Leadership is challenging in practice, however it does condense down to a few simple ingredients:
1. PRINCIPLE-CENTERED – foundation, which never changes. [Core values]
2. SITUATION-DEPENDANT – Leadership style may change depending on the circumstances. [Shift on the fly]
3. PEOPLE - always the focus. [Human element]
4. EXECUTION – commitment to excellence and comes down to action. [Flexibility]
5. FOLLOWERSHIP – Can’t be a good Leader, without being a good follower. [Circular effect]

Hi Ben, I think you encapsulated the essence of leadership very well there in those five points.
My main takeaway is the ‘Followership’ ingredient, which makes every sense but not something that instantly comes to mind when you think of this skill.
I see how being a leader will also entail being a follower, the Circular Effect as you put it is an interesting concept.
Cheers

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read the blog and provide feedback.
Agree that followership is a vital ingredient that often gets put on the back burner when the topic of Leadership is discussed. As you mentioned, it makes sense, but doesn’t jump right out at you.
Integrating and highlighting the followership ingredient more into blog posts.
Thanks again for the discussion.
Regards,
Ben
